Nightlife in Manhattan Beach is centered around two main areas: the north end, also called El Porto, and downtown by the Manhattan Beach Pier. Shellback Tavern or "The Shell" is a rustic pub right by the pier with a jukebox and party crowd. Nearby Simmzy's is an intimate beer and wine bar with 24 beers on tap and a patio. Head to Zinc, the upscale bar at Shade Hotel, for a glamorous crowd and subzero martinis served in glasses made of ice. In El Porto, nightlife is a bit wilder. The original Sharkeez features strong, fruity cocktails and a party atmosphere, OB's is a casual pub for beer lovers and Pancho's is a small cantina with live music on the weekend.
